Blue Temple: Chiang Rai’s Wat Rong Suea Ten

Image
Chiang Rai is a city in northern Thailand that is famous for its stunning temples, such as the White Temple and the Black House. But there is another temple that deserves your attention: the Blue Temple, or Wat Rong Suea Ten. Here you can immerse yourself in the serene beauty that this temple offers. Nestled in the heart of Chiang Rai, this modern masterpiece will captivate you with its vibrant hues and intricate patterns and gold details. The Blue Temple is a relatively new temple that was only completed just a few years ago (in 2016). It was designed by a local artist named Phuttha Kabkaew (who was an apprentice of Chalermchai Kositpipat), the creator of the White Temple. The Blue Temple follows a similar style of Buddhist art, combining traditional elements with modern and psychedelic imagery.  The name of the temple means “the House of the Dancing Tiger”, as the site was once a place where tigers roamed. Can you imagine that? Tigers in Chiang Rai! The blue colour of the temple ...

Amazing Street Art: Mae Salong

Image
Mae Salong in the Northern highlands of Thailand is both stunning and somewhat unique in that it is home to ethnic Chinese people. This village has steep, narrow streets which host a large array of wall art, from the cute to the striking. There are numerous tea shops and eateries that sell/serve the local oolong tea grown at the numerous tea plantations. It is well worth a visit!

I also add additional patterns and colours around the flowers. Step 4. Manipulate your photos, ink drawings and painting on a collage app (I like to use InShot). You can create a variety of different designs which play around with the composition and create a contemporary look. Materials Needed: Watercolour paper, paints (watercolour or gouache), ink pens, coloured pencils, tissue paper and glue Most of all ‘HAVE FUN!’  And remember ‘VariARTy is the life of art!’ Lily Photograph: My Inspiration Initial Ink Sketch: Step-by-Step Final Ink Sketch Final Artwork: Step-by-Step Final Artwork: Abstr...
